RootStall is built on trust. These guidelines help us keep the market a safe, fair, and welcoming place for everyone.
Represent your products accurately. Use real photos. Describe what you're actually selling. If something is out of season or out of stock, update your listings. Customers trust vendors who are transparent.
RootStall is for Hawaii-based vendors selling Hawaii-grown, Hawaii-made, or Hawaii-sourced products. Dropshipping, reselling mass-produced goods, or listing products not connected to Hawaii doesn't belong here.
Be kind in your messages. Respond to customers promptly. Handle disputes with respect. We're a community, not just a marketplace. How you treat people matters as much as what you sell.
Set prices that reflect the value of your work. Don't undercut other vendors just to win sales — it hurts the whole community. And don't inflate prices beyond what's reasonable. Fair pricing builds trust and repeat customers.
When a customer places an order, they're counting on you. Accept or decline orders promptly. If you can't fulfill an order, communicate early. Consistent fulfillment builds your reputation and keeps customers coming back.
Comply with all applicable Hawaii state and county regulations for your type of business. This includes food safety laws, cottage food rules, business licensing, and tax requirements. RootStall is not responsible for your regulatory compliance, but we expect all vendors to operate legally.
We take a common-sense approach. Most issues can be resolved with a conversation. But when guidelines are violated:
First time: We'll reach out to discuss the issue and ask you to correct it.
Repeated violations: Your booth may be temporarily suspended while we work through the issue together.
Serious violations: Accounts may be permanently removed for fraud, harassment, illegal activity, or repeated serious violations.
We always aim to be fair. If you think a decision was wrong, you can appeal by emailing support@rootstall.com.
If you encounter a vendor or customer who isn't following these guidelines, let us know. We take every report seriously.
